Rapidly and surely our world of 7 billion people is growing older. In less than 10 years, more than one billion people will be 60 or older. Population ageing, which results from lower fertility and longer survival, is actually a triumph of development. Yet it also presents many challenges. This unprecedented trend calls for a rethinking of how much older persons can contribute back to society.

The interactive play “The World at Seven Billion” was produced by Theatre for Changes NGO in 2011 with the support of UNFPA Armenia, to introduce the intricate links between the recent and rapid growth in the size of our global family and the environmental and social trends of our present society: strains on our natural resources, polluted air and water, climate change, unprecedented worldwide communication and trade, and an increase of people living in poverty.

7 Billion Actions is a global movement initiated by United Nations Population Fund for for all humanity to highlight positive action by individuals and organizations and inspire others to join the movement.
